Smiling on demand can be super awkward. Here are some tips to get your lovely natural smile on point.
Adding emotion to your smile can help. I ask my clients to think about a specific, meaningful moment.
This could be a remarkable event, maybe an achievement or an award, something that fills you with pride.
The best smiles are natural smiles when you stop 'trying' to smile.
Unfortunately, you can't fake it. I can tell if it isn't your natural smile.
Sometimes, if it's not working, I might ask you to get up and shake yourself, do some face relaxing exercises.
For most people, the best smile is one that engages the eyes and the muscles around the eyes: squint. If you aren't confident smiling, then practise before you come to the session. Get the mirror out and try it.
